Benefits of Pointing Mortar
Protects architectural features
The flexible, crack resisting nature of Limelite Heritage Lime Pointing Mortar significantly reduce the risk of cracking and allows for slight movement and thermal expansion throughout the life of the building.
Trusted performance
Limelite products have been trusted by conservation professionals in some of the most sensitive and demanding heritage environments such as historic buildings, museums and art galleries.
Breathable pointing mortar for historic buildings
Limelite mortars are breathable allowing moisture to evaporate and buildings breathe. This significantly reduces the risk of trapped moisture, damage to building fabric and mould growth. Eliminating trapped moisture in brickwork reduces the risk of frost damage and significantly improves thermal efficiency.
Colour matched pointing mortar for historic buildings
Limelite Pointing Mortar is available in six standard colours. This means that it is easier to match the colour of existing mortars when re-pointing brickwork or stone walls in old buildings. For large projects, a colour matching service is available allowing us to match samples from our client’s site.
Sustainable pointing mortar for renovation
Since Lime is produced at a far lower temperature than cement, it requires significantly less energy to produce and producing fewer emissions during manufacturing. Lime has a unique ability to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, further minimising the total CO2 emissions.
Responsibly sourced
Easy to use lime pointing mortar
Limelite Lime Pointing Mortars are supplied ready mixed and are easy to use straight from the bag, by just adding water and mixing. It can be used for construction and pointing of both brick and stone walls.
Thin joint mortar for renovation
Limelite Lime Pointing Mortar is available in 0-4mm and 0-2mm aggregate sizes. This makes it suitable for a range of pointing and repair applications including for thin joints.
Less prone to frost damage
The breathable nature of Limelite Heritage Lime Mortar makes it less likely to retain moisture and suffer from frost damage. It also means that it is less likely to damage the surrounding brick and stone.
